Root Canal Therapy:
Root canals are located inside the tooth. They are channels where blood vessels and nerve entering the tooth to give it vitality.
When the integrity of the root canal system is compromised, whether it from trauma, dental caries, or any other causes, it needs to be cleaned, disinfected, and obturated by the dentist to remove the source of infections and to relief the patient from pain and discomfort. This type of treatment is typically done in one office visit, under local anesthesia.
Following root canal treatment, a core build up is done to restore the coronal (top) portion of the tooth, rendering it ready to support the final restoration – a full coverage crown.
